Edward Charles "Little Eddie" Hunter Jr., a 29-year-old man from Columbus, Ohio, tragically lost his life on July 1, 2021. He was fatally shot inside a bar in the Franklinton neighborhood. The incident occurred following a fight between two groups of people. Little Eddie was standing when he was shot in the back by Clyde T. Littlefield, 23, who then shot him again while he lay injured on the ground. Little Eddie died at the scene.
Clyde Littlefield was arrested by U.S.
Marshals in August 2021 in Morgantown, West Virginia, and later pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter with a firearm specification, illegal possession of a firearm in a liquor permit premises, and illegally carrying a concealed weapon. In exchange for his plea, Franklin County prosecutors dismissed a murder charge. Littlefield was sentenced to an indefinite prison term of 19 years and two months to 24 years and eight months. If he misbehaves in prison, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections could extend his prison term.
Logan Besse, a friend of Littlefield's, was also involved in the incident. Besse was identified as a person of interest shortly after the shooting. He pleaded guilty to having a weapon under disability and was sentenced to two years and six months of community control.
