Lewis A. Johnson, a 76-year-old African American man from Columbus, Ohio, was tragically killed on July 27, 2021. He was found fatally shot inside his home on the 5200 block of Jameson Drive on the city's Southeast Side. The incident occurred around 10:50 p.m. when his son, 32-year-old Bryan Johnson, allegedly shot him in the head. Bryan Johnson was arrested and charged with murder, and he is currently being held in the Franklin County Jail.

According to family members, Lewis Johnson had asked his son to bring the gun upstairs, and as he turned his back, Bryan Johnson allegedly fired the fatal shot. Gary Johnson, another brother present at the scene, fled the home, while Bryan Johnson dropped the firearm inside and followed him out. The front door locked behind them, and police had to break down the door to gain entry and find Lewis Johnson dead on the floor.
