Trey L. Glover, a 32-year-old Black male, tragically lost his life on May 29, 2022, in Columbus, OH. Glover was fatally shot in the Milo-Grogan neighborhood, specifically on the 700 block of Gibbard Avenue. The incident occurred around 3:19 AM when officers responded to a shots fired call. Upon arrival, they found Glover suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and pronounced him deceased at the scene.
The suspect in Glover's murder is Paul Harris III, a 21-year-old man from Columbus.
Harris was found on the porch of a house in the area, also suffering from gunshot wounds, and was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Evidence gathered during the investigation revealed that Harris went to the house to confront Glover and was involved in an exchange of gunfire. Harris later attempted to hide a Glock .40 caliber handgun in a vehicle but was taken into custody after police obtained a search warrant and recovered the weapon.
Harris was charged with involuntary manslaughter and pleaded guilty to the charges. On November 20, 2024, Franklin County Common Pleas Court Judge David Young sentenced Harris to nine to twelve years in prison. The court's decision brought some measure of justice to Glover's family, although the loss of a young life remains a poignant reminder of the impact of violence in communities.
