Jamar Higgs, a 35-year-old man from Cincinnati, Ohio, tragically died on July 3, 2022, from a gunshot wound. He was found suffering from the injury in the 2800 block of Harrison Avenue in Westwood, Cincinnati, and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cincinnati Fire Department. The incident occurred around 10 p.m., and emergency crews were unable to save him.
Following the incident, a 17-year-old suspect named Malaki Tiller was arrested and charged with murder, felonious assault, and
having weapons while under disability. Tiller turned himself in at the Hamilton County Juvenile Court Youth Center on July 11, 2022. The case was transferred to adult court, and Tiller was indicted by a grand jury on the charges.
The investigation into Jamar Higgs' death remains ongoing, and police have not indicated whether they believe anyone other than Tiller was involved. The community and Higgs' loved ones continue to seek justice and closure in this tragic case.
