On June 5, 2019, Brandon Phoenix, a 19-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed at a bus stop in Cincinnati, Ohio. Phoenix, who had no criminal record, was waiting for the bus to go to his job at Cincinnati's Children's Hospital when he was struck by a stray bullet during a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred in the Mt. Airy neighborhood, and authorities determined that Phoenix was not the intended target of the shooting.
