Devin Taione Bennett, an 18-year-old male of African American ethnicity from Dayton, Ohio, tragically passed away on July 7, 2022. According to reports, Devin was shot in the 1900 block of Gant Drive in Harrison Township. The incident occurred following an altercation at the intersection of Republic Drive and Gant Drive. Witnesses reported seeing multiple individuals in the area, and one of them displayed and fired a handgun at Devin.
Medics transported Devin to Kettering Health Dayton, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting and has stated that detectives are actively looking for people involved in the incident. The sheriff’s office has also requested that anyone with information about the shooting contact the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
