Following the incident, Ameir Trent was charged with reckless homicide, felonious assault, and discharging a firearm into a habitation. Trent ultimately pleaded guilty to these charges and was sentenced to 15 to 17 years in prison. The Franklin County Prosecutor's Office secured the guilty plea and the maximum sentence possible for the charges.
