In the early morning hours of May 8, 2013, the life of 29-year-old Christopher Stinson, a male Navy veteran, was tragically cut short on Detroit's northwest side. Known to his loved ones as 'Bam,' Stinson was walking home from a Citgo gas station located at 17110 Lasher Road, near Six Mile. The incident occurred on Lasher Road, somewhere between Grand River Avenue and West McNichols.
As he made his way along the familiar street, a voice called out his name.
When Christopher turned to see who was there, he was shot once in the chest. He had joined the Navy at the young age of 17 and served his country during the events of 9/11. Despite having served in a time of war, he died on a street in the city he loved.
Christopher Stinson was a husband and a father to two children. In the years following his death, his family has continued to seek justice. The case remains unsolved, and as of now, there have been no arrests made and no suspects publicly identified. Crime Stoppers of Michigan has offered a cash reward of up to $2,500 for any information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for his murder. His family has made public pleas for anyone with information to come forward and contact authorities, emphasizing that tips can be submitted anonymously.
