Mayfield Evans III, a 33-year-old Black man from Columbus, Ohio, tragically died on September 21, 2022, from a gunshot wound. He was found in the 1600 block of Harvester Lane, suffering from critical injuries, and was later pronounced dead at Riverside Methodist Hospital. The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m., and despite the efforts of the responding officers and medical personnel, Evans succumbed to his injuries at 12:02 a.m.
