Terrence L. Hamman, a 76-year-old man from Shiloh, Ohio, passed away on December 24, 2022. He was an Air Force veteran who had served for 30 years as an airplane technician before retiring from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Terrence was known for his love of collecting toy tractors and attending toy tractor shows. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
On the day of his death, Terrence's sons, William and Steve Hamman, went to check on him after he did not answer his phone. When William arrived at the house, he found Terrence's truck missing and made entry into the house, where he discovered his father dead in his bed. Terrence had died from a gunshot wound. The Richland County Sheriff's Office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation began investigating the case as a homicide.
Terrence's son, Robert Len Hamman, 53, was found and taken into custody on a probation violation warrant. He had been staying with his father and was considered a person of interest in the investigation. Robert was later charged with six felonies, including two counts of murder. The investigation revealed that Robert and Terrence had been in a dispute the day before Terrence's death.
The case has since gone to trial, with William and Steve Hamman testifying against their brother.
