Virginia Carol "Ginny" Mains, a 20-year-old caregiver and housekeeper, was tragically murdered on August 21, 1970, in Gastonia, North Carolina. She was born on May 13, 1950, in Watauga County, North Carolina, and was remembered for her kindness and trusting nature. Ginny was temporarily working in Gastonia when she met her untimely death.
