On October 21, 2004, Darwin Richard Dawley, a 41-year-old man from Winston-Salem, NC, tragically lost his life along with his wife, Wendy Sue Dawley, 40, and their 14-year-old daughter, Elizabeth Emily Dawley. The family was found shot in the head at their home on West Clemmonsville Road. The state medical examiner determined that the deaths were likely the result of a murder-suicide.
