Yoland Cotton, a 22-year-old African American woman from Charlotte, North Carolina, was found deceased on September 13, 2005. Her body was discovered in a wooded area near the intersection of West Boulevard and South Tryon Street. Cotton had been reported missing several days earlier, and her death was later determined to be a homicide.
