Dexter Xavier Johnson, a 33-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on November 12, 2006, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Dexter was shot multiple times while exiting the Grand Food Market located at 422 E. Grand Ave in Rocky Mount. The incident occurred at approximately 11:54 PM. Dexter was shot once in the stomach, three times in the back, and once in the lower arm. Despite the efforts of EMS and Nash Health Care, he was pronounced dead at 1:24 AM on November 13, 2006.
