On October 11, 2022, Scottie Deon Winstead, a 48-year-old male from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, tragically lost his life. He was found unresponsive inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound in the 600 block of Cascade Avenue. The Rocky Mount Police Department responded to reports of shots fired around 2:30 p.m. that day. Nash County EMS pronounced Winstead deceased at the scene.
