On July 3, 2007, Katherine Mardell Krejci, a 23-year-old woman from Fayetteville, NC, was tragically found dead in her apartment at the Cambridge Arms Apartments. The investigation revealed that she was shot by her boyfriend, Kenny Y. Salas, who was 30 years old. After killing Krejci, Salas turned the gun on himself, resulting in a murder-suicide.
