Margaret Peoples Johnson, an 89-year-old woman from Carthage, North Carolina, tragically lost her life on March 29, 2009. She was one of seven residents and a nurse who were killed in a horrific shooting at the Pine Lake Health and Rehab Center in Carthage. The incident occurred when a gunman, later identified as Robert Stewart, entered the nursing home and began shooting indiscriminately, going from room to room.
