Rose Marie Guzman, a 24-year-old woman from Louisburg, NC, tragically lost her life on December 14, 2011, in what was determined to be a murder-suicide. The incident occurred at the Franklin Court apartments, where Gregory Hicks, 29, fatally shot Rose Marie Guzman before turning the gun on himself. Guzman, who was staying with a friend at the time, had a history of domestic violence with Hicks.
