Dontae Renard Ross, a 21-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on September 12, 2013, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning when police responded to a reported shooting in the 2500 block of Ladeara Crest Lane. Upon arrival, officers found Ross lying in the grass with a gunshot wound to his buttocks. Despite being rushed to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for surgery, Ross succumbed to his injuries.
