Diana Hathaway, a 31-year-old woman from Fayetteville, NC, tragically lost her life on August 5, 2014, in what was later identified as a double murder-suicide. Diana, along with her 14-year-old son, Zachary Phillips, were shot and killed by Gerald Patrick Marr, a 22-year-old man from Spring Lake. The incident occurred in front of Zachary's girlfriend's home on Winthrop Drive in Fayetteville. Diana's 15-year-old daughter, Kelsey Phillips, was also shot but survived the attack.
