Nicoda Melvin, a 21-year-old African American woman from Fayetteville, NC, was tragically shot and killed on September 19, 2021. The incident occurred at the home she shared with her boyfriend, Travis Edward Jefferson, on Southern Avenue. According to reports, Nicoda was shot in the head by Jefferson, who was subsequently charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.
