Antonio Montreal Chambers, a 25-year-old African American male, was found dead in the bedroom of an apartment in the Colonial Village apartment complex in Salisbury, North Carolina, on October 23, 2014. The Salisbury Police Department received a call at 3:43 a.m. regarding a shooting at 231 D Ave., Colonial Village apartment 43. Upon arrival, officers discovered Chambers deceased in the bedroom, having suffered a gunshot wound.
A woman and two children were also present in the apartment at the time, but they were unharmed.
Chambers did not reside in the apartment where he was found. His grandmother, Lois Chambers, mentioned that family members began gathering at the apartment complex as early as 4 a.m. on the day of the incident. She described Antonio as a "good-hearted person" who smiled a lot and had enough love for everyone. His aunt, Jancinia Ingram, expressed confusion over why someone would want to kill him.
The Salisbury Police Department stated that the incident was not random and that criminal investigators were following up on leads. Authorities urged anyone with information about the crime to contact the Salisbury Police Department or Crime Stoppers. As of now, there have been no arrests, suspects, or litigations reported in connection with Antonio Montreal Chambers' death.
