Imogene Yongue, an 88-year-old African American woman, passed away on December 22, 2014, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her death was initially reported as a natural occurrence, but subsequent investigations revealed a more sinister reality. Imogene Yongue was found dead in her home on Vernedale Road, near Sharon Amity Road, during a welfare check conducted by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.
