On February 10, 2015, Yusor Mohammad Barakat, a 21-year-old Muslim woman, was tragically killed in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Yusor, along with her husband Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23, and her sister Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19, were shot to death in their home at the Finley Forest Condominiums on Summerwalk Circle. The victims were all of Middle Eastern descent and were known for their academic achievements and community service.
