LaVontae Khalil Brown, a 15-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on November 6, 2015, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. LaVontae was a freshman at Rocky Mount High School. On that fateful Friday afternoon, he was found severely injured from a gunshot wound at around 1 p.m. on Pinehaven Drive. Despite being rushed to Nash General Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
