Rakim Marquis Lofton, a 22-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically lost his life on December 4, 2015, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Lofton was fatally shot in an incident that also claimed the life of Khadijah Shantell Carney, 21, of Apex, North Carolina. The incident occurred early in the morning on New Bern Avenue, where Lofton and Carney were found by police.
