Sam Scoggins Jr., a 41-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 2, 2016, in Burlington, North Carolina. He was found suffering from a gunshot wound at the intersection of West Holt and Sellars streets. Despite being rushed to Alamance Regional Medical Center, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The incident was immediately classified as a homicide, prompting a thorough investigation by the Burlington Police Department.
