Stephanie Lynn Sanchez, a 33-year-old woman tragically lost her life on February 29, 2016, in Alexis, North Carolina. Her death was part of a horrific triple homicide that took place in the home of her acquaintance, Crystal Leah Gambino. The incident began when Gambino discovered her husband, Giovanni James Gambino, 40, and Sanchez, along with another man, Geoffrey Glenn Gilliland, 39, engaged in a threesome in their bedroom.
In a fit of rage, Crystal Gambino grabbed a .44 Magnum and fired multiple shots, killing all three individuals. After the shooting, she attempted to cover up the crime by dragging Sanchez's body outside and placing it on a burn pile in the backyard. She also tried to clean up the scene by washing bedding and moving the bodies. However, she eventually confessed to her brother-in-law, who then alerted the authorities.
Crystal Gambino was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
However, she later took a plea deal, pleading guilty to two counts of second-degree murder and one count of involuntary manslaughter. She was sentenced to 29 years in prison for her crimes.
