Towanda La'Shawn Chambers Coffey, a 32-year-old woman from Matthews, NC, tragically died on July 29, 2008. She was shot and killed by her estranged husband, Gregory Coffey, in Waxhaw, NC. The incident occurred after Towanda had filed for a restraining order against Gregory, who confronted her at a gas station and forced her into a car at gunpoint. The car eventually crashed into a wall, and Towanda was found dead from a gunshot wound to the head.
