Christian Isaac Allen, an 18-year-old male, tragically passed away on February 19, 2017, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Christian was a senior at East Mecklenburg High School, known for his talent in sports, particularly football, and his vocal abilities. He was a beloved member of his community, with a bright future ahead of him, hoping to attend Appalachian State University in the fall and pursue a career in law enforcement.
On the night of his death, Christian attended a house party in
southeast Charlotte. An argument broke out among several individuals, including Christian and 22-year-old Carlos Olguin. The altercation escalated, and Christian was shot four times—twice in the chest, once in the right elbow, and once in the left wrist. He was found outside the home, suffering from gunshot wounds, and was transported to Carolinas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner's autopsy report confirmed that Christian had alcohol in his system at the time of his death. The investigation led to the arrest of Carlos Olguin, who was charged with Christian's murder. Detectives confirmed that the argument at the party on Kelford Lane in South Charlotte led to the shooting. Olguin's first court appearance was scheduled shortly after his arrest.
Christian's death had a profound impact on his family, friends, and the East Mecklenburg High School community. A vigil and balloon release were held in his honor, and his teammates, friends, and family members gathered to pay tribute to him.
