Demone Nesbitt, a 23-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on May 31, 2017, in Kinston, North Carolina. The incident occurred at the Mitchell Wooten Court housing complex, where Nesbitt was shot. He succumbed to his injuries while being transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. The Kinston Police Department quickly identified the shooting as a double homicide, with another victim, 18-year-old Donald Girtley Jr., also losing his life in the same incident.
