Jared Chatman, a 29-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on June 20, 2017, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred at The Edge at NoDa apartments on Hilo Drive, off North Tryon Street, just before 11:30 p.m. Jared Chatman and another victim, Sanchez McClure, were found with gunshot wounds at the scene. Jared was discovered in a stairwell, while Sanchez was found just inside the doorway of the apartment. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
