On August 22, 2017, the body of Eduardo Vladimir Barrientos, an 18-year-old male from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was discovered in a wooded area behind a business on Glendale Street. Eduardo, who was of Hispanic descent, was found with a gunshot wound to the head. The discovery was made by railroad workers performing a routine line check. The Winston-Salem police quickly identified the death as a homicide and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
