In the early morning hours of October 14, 2006, the quiet community of Bonaparte, Iowa, was shattered by a horrific act of violence that claimed the lives of five family members. Among the victims was 15-year-old Shelby Marie Bentler, a White female who perished alongside her parents and two sisters in their rural home.
