Vincent Roland, a 24-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on June 25, 2018, at the Margate on Cone apartments in Greensboro, North Carolina. Following the investigation, Greensboro police charged two men with
first-degree murder in connection with Vincent Roland's death. Ladarius Devon Riley, 24, and Xavier Alanson Bell, 35, were both apprehended and charged. Riley was arrested in Durham, North Carolina, while Bell was apprehended at a Greyhound bus station in Dallas, Texas, with the assistance of the State Bureau of Investigation and Dallas police. Both suspects faced additional charges of attempted first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
The investigation revealed that Riley's vehicle, a white Mitsubishi Galant, was seen leaving the parking lot of the Margate apartments at a high rate of speed after the shooting.
