Tunji Smith Jr., a 19-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on September 23, 2018, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the evening on Saratoga Drive, where officers from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department responded to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, they found Tunji Smith Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
