Mark Jefferson Furey, a 57-year-old white male, was found shot to death on February 9, 2019, in Stony Point, North Carolina. The incident occurred at the residence of Chad Lee Kennedy, a 38-year-old white male, located on Mount Wesley Church Road. Both men were discovered with multiple gunshot wounds inside a mobile home. The Alexander County Sheriff's Office, led by Sheriff Chris Bowman, launched an investigation into the double homicide.
