On December 10, 2019, Walter Thurman Minton, a 41-year-old white male from Mountain View, NC, was found shot to death behind a home on Springs Pointe Drive in Stony Point, Alexander County. Deputies arrived at the scene around 12:32 PM after receiving a call about the shooting. Minton was discovered lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.
