Therrisha Steward, a 31-year-old African American woman, was found dead on February 26, 2019, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her body was discovered on the side of Tom Hunter Road around 1:35 a.m. after police responded to a welfare check. Therrisha had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene. The area where her body was found is known for its high crime rates, including drugs, prostitution, and murders.
