Rayshun Edward Terry, a 38-year-old African American man, tragically lost his life on May 31, 2019, in High Point, North Carolina. Terry was attempting to intervene in a fistfight involving his brother when he was fatally shot. The incident occurred early in the morning at the intersection of Wesley Drive and East Green Drive. Witnesses reported that at least one person fired shots during the altercation, and one of those shots struck Terry.
Following the shooting, High Point Police
launched an investigation that led to the arrest of Cinciere Turner, who was charged with first-degree murder in connection with Terry's death. Turner was apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Greensboro later that day. Additionally, Tamontrez Collins was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and aiding and abetting first-degree murder. Collins was later released on a $250,000 bond but failed to appear for a scheduled court appearance. He was eventually captured by the U.S. Marshals Service in Troy, New York.
