Shakur Kapone Hedgebeth, a 25-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on August 21, 2019, in Plymouth, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the 200 block of Wilson Street, where family members initially mistook the gunshots for fireworks. Shakur had just celebrated his 25th birthday when he was fatally shot.
