Tydarrien Ford, a 25-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on October 25, 2019, in northwest Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 7:54 PM on Catherine Simmons Avenue near Augusta Street. Ford was found inside a vehicle, having suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Responding officers were initially called to the scene for an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, they discovered Ford's lifeless body inside the vehicle.
Another victim, also suffering from gunshot wounds, was found lying nearby on Catherine Simmons Avenue at Custer Street. This second victim was transported to Atrium Health CMC with life-threatening injuries.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has been actively investigating the case since the night of the incident. Despite their efforts, no arrests have been made, and the case remains unsolved.
