Mkenzie Denise McKinney, a 10-year-old girl from Greensboro, NC, tragically lost her life on January 1, 2020. She was one of three victims in a shocking New Year's Day shooting. The other victims were Serenity Taliem Rose, a 2-year-old girl, and Jerry Griffin, a 61-year-old man. The suspect in this case is Brittany Christina McKinney, who was charged with three counts of first-degree murder. Brittany McKinney, 28 years old at the time, was the mother of Mkenzie and the aunt of Serenity.
