Jonathan Elijah Ijames, a 30-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on April 26, 2020, in Salisbury, North Carolina. The incident occurred at the Lafayette Street Apartment complex, where Ijames was residing at the time. He was shot multiple times and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Salisbury Police Department identified Ijames as the victim of the fatal shooting, which also resulted in injuries to several other individuals.
