According to reports, the party took a violent turn when an argument broke out, leading to a shooting that left three people injured, including Darrion Tyler. Tyler was shot multiple times and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Jocephus Jones III, an 18-year-old male from Parkton, and Destiny Bradford, a 22-year-old female, were also shot but survived their injuries.
The investigation into the shooting revealed that Jamese Herring, a 21-year-old male who resided on Gillespie Street, was responsible for the attack. Initially charged with voluntary manslaughter, Herring's charges were later upgraded to first-degree murder in connection with Darrion Tyler's death. Herring also faced charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury for the shootings of Jones and Bradford. He was held in the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.
