Jelani Whittington, a 37-year-old man from Durham, North Carolina, was tragically shot and killed on December 1, 2020. He was found in a car with a gunshot wound in the 1200 block of East Main Street, and despite being rushed to a local hospital, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Witnesses reported hearing approximately ten gunshots, and multiple evidence markers were seen around the white car where Whittington was found.
