Tahleel Minnigan, a 25-year-old male from Alfordsville, NC, tragically lost his life on December 12, 2020. The incident occurred in Maxton, Robeson County, where Minnigan and another individual, Tyquean Beard, were shot. The shooting took place on B&C Lane, and both victims were transported to Scotland Memorial Hospital by Minnigan's girlfriend. Unfortunately, Minnigan succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the hospital, while Beard was reported to be in stable condition.
The suspect in the case, Zachary R. Butler, a 20-year-old male from Maxton, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, and two counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling. Butler was placed in the custody of the Robeson County Detention Center with no bond for the first-degree murder charge and a $350,000 secured bond for the remaining offenses.
