Stephen Henderson, a 21-year-old African American male, was killed in a shooting on the afternoon of December 1, 2015, in Detroit, Michigan. The violent incident occurred outside the Hayes Troester Market on Hayes Street near Houston Whittier on the city's east side. Henderson was sitting in a vehicle with three minors—a 13-year-old girl, a 14-year-old girl, and a 7-year-old boy—whom he had reportedly just picked up from school.
