Lailani Nicole Givens, a 34-year-old African American woman, was found dead on February 19, 2022, in Mooresville, North Carolina. Her body was discovered inside a car near Rocky River Road, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The Iredell County Sheriff's Office immediately launched an investigation into her death, which was later determined to be a homicide. Lailani had been shot, and the circumstances surrounding her death pointed to foul play.
