Raquan Smith, a 19-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 23, 2022, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Annlin Avenue, near South Tryon Street and Interstate 77. Upon arrival, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers found Raquan with a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to Atrium Main hospital with life-threatening injuries but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries later that day.
